Winter Skin Woes: How to get soft skin even in winter!

Winter is finally here! This means snow, cold temperatures, and dry, dry air. Until the snow melts we’ll all suffer from chapped lips and hands.

I’ve had dry skin all of my life, with the added fun of eczema. January and February are by far the worst months for my skin. Thankfully I’ve discovered the most fun way to get smooth skin for mommy and kids!

All you need for soft skin in winter is a bathtub, a bath bomb, and some body cream.

Draw a nice hot bath and drop in a bath bomb! They’re fun and fizzy, which feels very nice and relaxing. The oil in them will soften your skin and fill your bathroom with a wonderful relaxing scent. Personally, I love the Oatmeal Milk and Honey type. It smells so delicious!
Bath time is so much more fun with Mr. Rubber Duckie

When your little one gets out of the bath, don’t dry them off right away! If they’re dripping everywhere you can pat them dry a little bit, but this works best when they’re still slippery. Putting on cream and lotion when you’re still wet from a bath or shower seals in the moisture.  Apply a very thick cream all over their skin. The absolute best is made by Eucerin. It seals in moisture like no other! The only downside is that it’s very thick and doesn’t go on as easily as moisturizer. Using it directly after a bath makes the application easier.

Now all you have to do is sit back, relax, and wait for the cream to seep in.  Put on a big fluffy bathrobe and curl up! Tomorrow your skin will feel amazingly smooth.

Have fun!
